What a year!

2020 will be remembered for the challenges we have faced, but also for how we have adapted, got through it together, and emerged more resilient.

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast” – I am so proud of how the iTOO team has pulled together to deliver ‘Expert Service – Always’ to our brokers.

Our Expert on Top, Fun at the Bottom campaign encouraged iTOOers and brokers to take on new ways of working and be #Expert at the things that matter.

iTOO adapted quickly, equipping 140 iTOOers with laptops and secure access to our network.

 

We put the safety of our team above everything else, working fully from home. Even, while being physically distant, we remained connected with our brokers and adapted our logo as a symbol that iTOO is #1 at relationships.

#TheBeatGoesOn was another theme that was introduced at iTOO, as the Lockdown regulations started to ease and we were slowly returning to the office and connecting with brokers safely, showing that despite the challenging year the beat must go on.

iTOO has led the charge in the industry with iTOOsdays and FriYAYs providing training and connections for our team and brokers. These sessions covered a range of topics from all our 25 expert products, innovative thinking, and entertaining interactive sessions such as cooking, wine tasting and of course the now famous iTOO Gin Bar virtually.

Since the beginning of lockdown, iTOO hosted 53 iTOOsday and Friyay sessions with an attendance of 9 478 brokers. The support was better than we could have expected, and we recognised our brokers with our first ever iTOO Broker Awards.

In our first iTOOsday, we said “never let a good crisis go to waste” and so we kicked off a digital strategy to digitise more of our business and to find smarter ways to work with brokers. This resulted in the sale of iTOO’s first ever online policy being sold in partnership with Strauss Fine Art Auctioneers and their broker. Watch this space for more innovative digital solutions for our brokers.

The iTOO family has continued to grow and in October we announced that Renew Risk Africa, a niche underwriting manager focused on insuring renewable energy risks joined us to offer cradle to grave insurance solutions for this growing sector in Africa.
