Following the news that 2 new Google Chrome zero-day vulnerabilities were being actively exploited, Google was quick to start on a fix which will be rolled out over the coming days and weeks. Google is urging users to be prepared to update their browsers.
The vulnerabilities allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to compromise an affected system via the web. The vulnerabilities have a severity rating of 8.4 out of 10 on the CVSS bug-severity scale.
This brings to five the number of actively exploited flaws found in Chrome within the last three weeks. Google is not alone in needing to urgently patch zero-day vulnerabilities, both Apple and Windows have been hard at work releasing patches to address zero-day vulnerabilities.
Threat actors have also been hard at work targeting unpatched flaws in regularly used software. With many working from home, this highlights the seriousness of ensuring that patches are regularly applied.
