As an extension to our iTOOsday Sessions, we have been proud to introduce another series called, The Red Couch Conversations. This series brings together a few subject matter experts and thought leaders in discussion around topical issues that brokers can learn from during the discourse and interaction.

Move the Needle:

The series launched on Tuesday, 16 February 2021 with a two part series called, Move the Needle. In Part one, a South African author, futurist and strategy consultant, and a founding director of strategic insights firm, TomorrowToday, Graeme Codrington helped us make sense of important concerns that people all around the world have about Covid-19 vaccines.

In Part two of Move the Needle, we invited our liability experts to delve deeper and take it a step further by discussing the unique underwriting challenges and insurance risks pharmaceutical shipments such as vaccines can present.

Insolvency, Business Rescue and the implications on D&O:

On Tuesday, 9 March 2021 we were joined by iTOO Financial Lines Expert, Jonathan Healy; Cyber Expert, Ryan van de Coolwijk; Practice Leader FINPRO at Marsh, Teri Solomon and Legal Director at Clyde & Co, Christopher McRoberts to discuss the COVID-19 and the economic “shutdown” as a result of government action to limit the spread of the pandemic and how this has brought into focus directors’ duties in relation to financial reporting and potential insolvency.
