MOZAMBIQUE: Cabo Delgano insurgency remains resilient despite drop in violence

Despite a drop in the frequency of attacks since the start of 2012, the Mozambican security forces have made little visible progress in countering the Islamist insurgency in the country’s northern Cabo Delgado Province. The coming months are likely to see a gradual re-escalation of fighting, with a significant likelihood of further attacks in the province gas-producing areas.
